1. Bitcoin (Btc):
The first and most well-known cryptocurrency, created in 2009. It acts as digital currency and a store of value. Its primary purpose is to enable easy and secure financial transactions without intermediaries like banks.
2. Altcoins:
These are all cryptocurrencies that are not Bitcoin. Some well-known altcoins include:
ETHEREUM (ETH):
Allows the creation of smart contracts and decentralized applications.
LITECOIN (LTC):
Created as a faster and lighter version of Bitcoin.
RIPPLE (XRP):
Designed for fast and low-cost international transactions.
3. Stablecoins:
Cryptocurrencies whose value is tied to a stable asset, such as the US dollar. Examples of stablecoins include:
TETHER (USDT):
Value is pegged to the US dollar.
USD COIN (USDC):
Also pegged to the US dollar.
4. Meme Coins:
Cryptocurrencies created as a joke or parody, but still gain attention. The most well-known meme coins are:
DOGECOIN (DOGE):
Created as a joke, but became very popular.
SHIBA INU (SHIB):
Known as the "Dogecoin killer."
5. Tokens:
Cryptocurrencies that do not have their own blockchain but use the infrastructure of another cryptocurrency. Examples of tokens include:
UNISWAP (UNI):
A token that operates on the Ethereum blockchain.
CHAINLINK (LINK):
Also based on the Ethereum blockchain and allows connecting smart contracts with external data.
